Dear Brilliant Community,

As we celebrate Mother's Day today, I'm reminded of the quiet wisdom, the unseen drops of love and resilience that shape us long before we realize it.  It feels fitting to talk about the power of listening — to ourselves, to life, to the gentle lessons that build brilliance drop by drop.  

When we think of building something meaningful — a business, a life, a legacy — we often imagine action, movement, results.

But sometimes, the most powerful work happens in stillness.

In Jill Scott’s song, Womanifesto, she says:

“I do hear to listen.”

Those words have stayed with me for years.

They remind me that brilliance isn’t always in what we do immediately — it’s often in how we listen.

Brilliant Corners Innovations wasn’t born from constant noise and action.

It was born from listening —

Listening to the lessons my career taught me.

Listening to the quiet pull toward something bigger.

Listening to the exhaustion that signaled a season had ended.

Like the African proverb teaches, “Drop by drop, you get a bucketful”

Each drop — each moment of real listening — fills the bucket of wisdom, clarity, and purpose.

Listening is an act of brilliance.

Listening is leadership.

Listening is where sustainable innovation begins.

As you move through your journey this week, I invite you to make space for listening:

To your instincts.

To the shifts in your energy.

To the small, almost imperceptible nudges from your calling.

Every drop matters.

Every quiet knowing adds up.
